FRIENDS OF THE ZEISS RESPONDS TO CITY DECISION ON BUHL
PLANETARIUM RFP, MAKES PENNSYLVANIA RIGHT TO KNOW LAW
REQUEST
Pittsburgh, July 2 - On Wednesday, Friends of the
Zeiss received a short and very vague letter
from Dale A. Perrett, Director of the City of
Pittsburgh Department of General Services. The entire

In re: Buhl Planetarium Artifacts Proposal
Dear Mr. Walsh,
I am sorry to inform you that your organization has
not been awarded any portion of the proposal to lease
artifacts from the Buhl Planetarium. It is quite
evident that you and your organization have a passion
for astronomy and the Buhl Planetarium and have spent
countless hours in efforts dedicated to your cause. I
wish to express my thanks for your involvement in
Pittsburgh history.

Under separate cover, Friends of the Zeiss will issue
copies of a reply to Mr. Perrett and a statement
before Pittsburgh City Council. The letter to Mr.
Perrett includes a request for information, under the
terms of the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law[Act of
June 21, 1957, P.L. 390, No. 212, 60 P.S. 66.1 et
seq., as amended], regarding RFP Response(s), award
letter(s), and legally in-force lease contract(s)
regarding the winning bid(s) for the preservation of
the Buhl Planetarium artifacts. Further, we are asking
for a copy of the legally in-force lease contract for
the Buhl Planetarium building.
