Subject: [Friends-of-the-Zeiss] Buhl Planetarium
Historic Designation Hearing
Glenn and Friends of the Zeiss,
I heartily support the proposal to dedicate the
original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular
Science Building as a Historic Structure.
The Zeiss Planetarium and the science exhibits in
this building have, during most of the twentieth
century, provided instruction in and understanding of
science to thousands of Pittsburghers, mainly the
youth.  This heritage definitely must be preserved,
and dedication of the building as a Historic Structure
will help to make this possible.
