Historic Designation Hearing

Dear Mr. Walsh:

I am delighted to hear that the Buhl Planetarium is being considered

as a City-Designated Historic Structure. I highly support this effort.

The dome of the Buhl was built by the Gustavino Company under the

supervision of my grandfather, Frank T. Bretherton who also supervised

the building of the U.S. Supreme Court among other well known buildings.

Designating the Buhl as a historic structure would be a wonderful addition

for the City of Pittsburgh. I pray that the City Council will give final

approval to this designation.
