Dear Sirs and Madames,

The Buhl Planetarium

I have become aware that you have plans to disassemble the planetarium projector and telescope as part of your redevelopment proposals.

I write to humbly ask you to reconsider this action. I believe that the equipment has great historic value and is intrinsically part of your building.

As an Englishman I have seen many important historic articles destroyed and spoiled by good intentioned but sadly uninformed people. In fact many of England's historic artefacts are safely preserved in your great country rather than lingering in unsuitable storage in England.

I consider your planetarium and it's equipment to be of international importance and therefore urge you to too all in your power to preserve the equipment intact within the building it was designed to enhance.

Yours sincerely

Iain P Douglas
